In Pala reign (750-1170 A.D.) Sagardighi was one of the main centres of Buddhist religion. After this in medieval period i.e., in Pathan age (First phase of 13th century) Sagardighi was an important place.
The main attractive objects are as follows:-

SAGARDIGHI:
Period of Excavation:
988-1038 A.D. by Mahipaldeva(I). Location: It is located near Sagardighi railway station of Azimganj- Nalhati loop railway. Description: It is the most important object of this district. Sagar means sea, whereas dighi is lake. It is a lake like a sea. Length and breadth of this lake are 1.5 and 1 kilometre respectively. There is a temple in the proper centre (under the water) of the lake whose steeple has been found when water level is decreased. 

KHERUR MOSQUE:
Year of Erection:
It is erected in 1495 A.D. by Khan Muajjam Rifath Khan. Location: Three kilometre west from Manigram railway station of Azimganj- Barharoa loop line. Description: It is a very beautiful mosque of Pathan age. It is only the east- fronted mosque having terracotta works.

SHEKHER DIGHI:
Year of Excavation:
1515 A.D. by Sultan Hussien Shah. Location: Thirteen kilometre south- east of Raghunathganj, west of NH- 34. Description: This dighi (lake) is one kilometre in length and 0.5 kilometre in breadth. At the centre there is a hauj (Wall barricaded place) of 200 metre × 120 metre.
