Recent Bhagirathi erosion causes threat to the heritage buildings which are standing on the river side. Itihas Parikrama, a History research society of Berhampore West Bengal apprehends that if the proper steps are not taken by the concerned authority the most important heritage buildings/ structures of Bengal including the temple complex of Rani Bhabani’s Char Bangla Mandir at Ajimganj, Murshidabad will collapsed. The renowned English daily “The Statesman” published the following news in it’s Kolkata Plus page on March 29, 2016, titled “Heritage shrines face erosion threat from Bhagirathi” Itihas Parikrama adds the illustrations.
